It’s actually quite difficult to put into words just how much Simon has helped me. To say he is always available to support, advise and encourage is an understatement. He is my virtual coach on all things training, nutrition and supplementation.

I’m now 47. In 2012 after years of yo-yo dieting, running, yoga, swimming, different classes and some weight training I was fed up and disillusioned. I joined Twitter and started following some interesting people including Sarah, Simon’s wife. Her transformation after having her 3rd child was astonishing, so I contacted her and she put me in touch with her coach/trainer Simon.

Simon, since then has provided me with training programmes and nutritional advice, and I have to say, I also have undergone a transformation. My whole body shape has changed, my upper body shape puts a lot of men to shame and I can lift really heavy weights. I am strong, confident and am always being complimented on my arms and my muscle definition is pretty good. I can’t say I’m always focused food wise and am now concentrating on losing that last bit of stubborn body fat. Again, Simon has helped me there, tweaking my daily protein and carbohydrate intake to optimise my chances of achieving that goal.

Simon sets me little challenges now and again, especially with my compound lifts and I have even been asked to compete in a body building competition. I’m still thinking about that one! Simon is extremely ‘female friendly’, seeming to know the issues which can affect women and advising accordingly. It isn’t easy though and you won’t get any quick fixes – you need to commit as much as Simon. I get up 3-4 times a week before 5 am to do fasted cardio because Simon told me it will help, and I train in the gym 3-4 times a week too. Thing is I love it and having seen the difference it has made to my body, health and outlook, it’s well worth it.

The best thing about Simon is that he doesn’t just give you a plan and then leave you to it. He’s on hand either by e-mail or phone to support and encourage. He’s an all round great chap and I would recommend him to anyone at whatever stage of their fitness journey.

I live abroad, and working with Simon on a training and nutrition plan was easy, even it if was long distance. The initial consultation was thorough but not overwhelming and Simon explains exactly what he needs from you in order to put your plan together and make it work for you as an individual.

Once the plan is up and running, he is readily available to answer questions and to monitor your progress; making the necessary tweaks to the plan where required, based on you reporting back on a weekly basis. He is so approachable and easy to work with, and realistic about 'falling off the wagon' and reachable targets. I've seen great results over a 4 month period and am really happy with what we've achieved - and I've never actually met him in person!

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him and Vortex to anybody looking to change the way they train and their body shape for the better.
